About Me – Diane Corriette

facebook_1469954874819

This is me in 2016 after losing 35 kg (5 stones or 70 lbs) and eating mainly plant-based / juicing green vegetables. I lost my focus soon after this photo was taken. Gained 15 lbs (which I have lost again) and still looking to lose another 35 kg (70 lbs).

I was born in London in 1966, a middle child and a shy introvert.

At 5′ 10″ I have always hated my height but have learnt to live with it.

By age 25 I found personal development and was able to live a little. Became a mother of three and ended up a single mother. Have raised three amazing human beings who are now living their life.

Caribbean heritage. My parents were born on an island in the East Caribbean called Dominica (Commonwealth of Dominica).

2008-2014 has been the most challenging time, as it was for many, and I ended up selling everything I owned and starting over. It has been slow going.

Around the age of 47 I found out about the Blue Zones and decided my midlife and older years will be more like that – being fit, healthy and eating more vegetables than meat. So that’s my goal. To change my middle-age spread into middle-aged shred. To be more strong than I am saggy. I have a lot of work to do.

About Zestizm

If I had to describe what Zestizm is all about to me and what my blog is about – well this is it….

The chronicles of a post-50 woman who is working through changing middle-aged spread into middle-aged shred. Moving from being saggy to strong using strength training, HIIT and yoga (when she can be bothered to do any of them) and learning how fasting (water fasting and intermittent fasting), juicing, raw eating and embracing a mainly plant-based lifestyle (80% of the time) can change her health and vitality.

I really believe that just because we hit midlife it doesn’t mean we have to accept pain, illness, extra weight and a decline in our physical abilities. There are healthy centenarians out there who still live an active life because of eating right, moving more and enjoying time with friends.

“I am taking practical actions so I fear less, live more, fuel joy and participate in adventure my aim is to go into my Third Age enjoying my best life yet.”

I am NOT A MEDICAL PRACTITIONER. This site is for information only.
